Future Titles
We're always hard at work researching new projects and updating current titles. Hikers, climbers and backcountry skiers are busy exploring new routes all over Vancouver Island and the west coast and we're excited to bring this news to you in our new editions. Here are some of the projects we are currently working on.
Coastal Hikes 2
A Guide to West Coast Hiking in British Columbia & Washington
Coastal Hikes 2 is the new, updated and long overdue version of the popular, original Coastal Hikes (2007). Like all the current versions of Wild Isle guidebooks it will be in full colour with updated maps, photographs and a new section on coastal day hikes. An invaluable trip planning guide to the best of west coast hiking.
Projected release: T.B.A.
Strathcona Alpine
A Guide to the Mountains of Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island
Strathcona Alpine will be the first of three books that will replace the cherished but now out-of-print original Island Alpine. The focus will be on details of the hiking and less technical routes on all the significant mountain peaks within Strathcona Park and to the west of the park - basically the central part of Vancouver Island. It will include the classic routes for all the Island Qualifiers but otherwise won't include 5th class climbs, those are featured in detail in Island Alpine Climbing.
Projected release: T.B.A
North Island Alpine
A Guide to the Mountains of Northern Vancouver Island
North Island Alpine will be the second of three books that will replace the cherished but now out-of-print original Island Alpine. The focus will be on details of the hiking and scrambling routes on all the significant mountain peaks north of the Salmon and Gold rivers. It will include the classic routes for all the Island Qualifiers but otherwise won't include 5th class climbs, those will be features in Island Alpine Climbing.
Projected release: T.B.A.
South Island Alpine
A Guide to the Mountains of Southern Vancouver Island
South Island Alpine will be the third in a new series of books that will finally replace the original Island Alpine (2003). It will include Mt Arrowsmith, Triple Peak and all the mountains south of a line from Comox Lake, Great Central Lake through Ursus Creek. Like the other two volumes in this series the focus will be on the hiking and scrambling routes to all the significant peaks in that area.
Projected release: T.B.A.
