Wild Isle Travel Journals
British Columbia may very well be the best place to live on the planet but sooner or later we all get itchy feet and the need to travel and explore new and exotic places kicks in. So this is where you can find stories of travel overseas. To get things started here are some tales of my travels in 2005 to Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.
Many of us who have been or have read about the magical islands of New Zealand know that the people, landscape and culture of this Pacific paradise share some striking parallels with coastal British Columbia and in particular with Vancouver Island. Australia also shares similarities with Canada in culture and outlook and from our perspective Tasmania is sure to have some strong resemblances to Vancouver Island.
The opposing seasons of the northern and southern hemispheres line up ideally for swinging employment and travel between B.C. and N.Z. Sea kayak guides can live in perpetual summer and avid skiers and snowboarders can play in the powder 12 months of the year. Join Wild Isle as we explore Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand by bicycle in 2005, bringing stories, trip ideas, travel tips and tricks to Wild Islanders contemplating escaping this winter to summer down-under.
If you have a travel story you'd like to share with Wild Isle readers,
with your link or some words and pictures and we'll post it online here.
